Garry Alvis Eggleston, 77, of 3938 Circle Creek Road, Penhook, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at his home. He was born in Rockingham County, N.C., on June 25, 1933, to John Willard Eggleston and Ethel Dunn Eggleston Crow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John "Bill" Willard Eggleston. Eggleston served in the Army during the Korean War as a military police officer. He retired from Winn Dixie and then from Dupont as a spinning machine operator. He was formerly a member of Lynwood Country Club, and he was a member of Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Eggleston of the home; two daughters, Lisa LuAnne Eggleston of Martinsville and Sandi Morris of Rocky Mount; a sister, Mildred Eggleston Westmoreland of Eden, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
