How to Contest an Alexandria City Parking Ticket
Citizens desiring to contest a parking citation or a citation for violation of the City tag ordinance may do so by requesting a hearing at the Parking Adjudication Office. The address and telephone number of the office is shown on the ticket. Cases may be heard in the Parking Adjudication Office on a walk-in basis. You may also contest a citation by filling out the online Parking Citation Adjudication Request. The citation will be suspended pending the outcome of the adjudication. There will be no interest accrued, no late fees applied and no collection actions taken during this process. In most cases, a letter explaining the result of the adjudication will be mailed within three to four weeks.
NOTE: Parking Adjudication will send an automated reply to any Parking Citation Adjudication Request verifying receipt of the request and giving brief information on the adjudication process. In some e-mail systems, this automated reply may become trapped in the spam filter or folder. If you do not receive this automated reply in your inbox, please check your spam filter or folder. Thank you.
